Fear
Fear
Why do they whisper; why are they so afraid? Why do Yonega's feel threatened by us, why do they feel imtimidated by us Why are there whispers, secrets, mumbling...... In Western culture, we seem to believe that the Creator hates our speaking out We were always told to whisper and be quiet in sacred places. But there is more to it. Native people all over the world have observed that white seemed afraid. What are we so afraid of? Are we afraid of others? Maybe. Are we afraid of ourselves? Maybe. Are we afraid of the Creator, of our Higher Power, of God? Maybe. Fear is generated by estrangement. When we no longer experience oueselves as a participating part of the universal community that needs us just as much as we need it,when we pull ourselves out of the awarnesss of the oneness of all things, we feel afraid.
It is difficult for Native people to understand that alienation, unless they adopted Western Culture.
Maybe fear is my indicator that something is wrong. It is the Creator's way of saying "Come on back"
